Green Day's sixth full-length release, 2000's Warning, has them in Kinks worship mode, utilizing acoustic rhythm tracks and idiosyncratic arrangements. However, there is still no shaking off their East Bay punk roots, which they use as a springboard on tracks like hit "Minority," "Warning" and the Replacements-inspired "Misery." Further proof that the band could do much more than three-chord punk, Warning was a good primer for the band's future venture into more complex and conceptual pop.
