BiographyGreen Velvet's Curtis Jones comes at you from Planet House, with a trick bag full of filthy jack trax and dirty innuendoes. He debuted his Green Velvet alias and his Relief label in 1993 with the corrosive Preacher Man, then followed up with classics like Flash and The Stalker. Jones virtually defined Hard House, crafting austere but funky tunes with a dangerous, demented edge. The popularity of his Green Velvet sound (and that of his more commercial alter ego Cajmere), combined with his efforts to promote such artists as DJ Sneak, Paul Johnson and Gemini, helped fuel the Chicago House revival of the '90s.
