Greyboy is at the heart of the hip-hop meets Soul Jazz hybrid that falls under the umbrella term of Acid Jazz. This SoCal boy has a better handle on the style than many on the British label. Greyboy knows good funky and soulful grooves but doesn't allow them to imprison the horns. You try to figure out what is sampled and what isn't.
