Barring the calamitous exception of not having Hall 'n' Oates' exquisite first single, "She's Gone," on here, Very Best Of still has pretty much every other song the casual fan could need from this dynamic duo of blue eyed soul(diers) -- even "Did It in a Minute." Hall and Oates are special because although they made a major transition into the '80s (and really hit it big), they don't have an "embarrassing period" skeleton in their closet. They have always remained true to the soul roots muscle they flexed on Abandoned Luncheonette in 1973.
