This collection is a jumble of previously released tracks and outtakes, but despite the circumstances, Long Gone Daddy manages to sound like a tightly wound, cohesive package. Hank3's reedy voice sounds right at home with these old-timey songs -- many of which feature his granddaddy's inspired yodeling and plenty of twanging guitars. Highlights include "The Sun Comes Up," the revved-up version of "Good Hearted Woman" and the shuffling, fiddle-kissed "The Wind Blew Cold."
