Hawke

Hawke is Gavin Hardkiss, a West Coast-based DJ/producer born and raised in South Africa. Usually banded with like-minded musical visionaries Scott and Robbie Hardkiss, Hawke makes genre-bending dance tunes with a global perspective. Brimming with positivity, each psychedelic-enhanced groove is a spirited, rave-ready romp through House, breakbeat, hip-hop and a nameless variety of world music influences. In 1998, the Hardkiss label debuted Hawke's funk-infused brand of melodic Global House on Namaquadisco. Four years later, San Francisco's eclectic Six Degrees label released Heatstroke, an energetic collection of well-executed club tunes with a distinctive organic feel. Together with Robbie and Scott Hardkiss (AKA God Within), Hawke has carved out a colorful niche in the SF dance music scene and beyond.
