Take It To The Limit
Hinder
Released:
Oct 2008
Label:
Universal
Rude and raunchy, Hinder's sophomore LP throws a couple bones to fans of their sensitive breakthrough "Lips of an Angel" -- epic slow jams like "Without You" and "The Best Is Yet to Come" -- but the grunting lead single "Use Me" is the real soul of this album. A note-by-note study in guitar-driven '80s soft metal, would-be Winger B-sides like "Up All Night" and "Heaven Sent" aren't breaking ground, but the creative vacancy is filled by ballsy hooks. It's when they dial down the horndog pick-up lines, though, as on "Thing for You," that they come closest to the wide appeal of their earlier hit.
