Bay Area luminaries Bart Davenport, Tony Sevener and Herve Salters collaborate on this blend of funk and electronics. Neither electro-funk nor disco, Honeycut take the innovative ambitiousness that marks indie rock at its best and marries it to tried-and-true soul-funk moves and weird electro noises. The dozen ultra hip, sonically hyperactive little gems gravitate towards true soul music more than anything, but are elevated by Davenport's lite-rock falsetto, tons of Frippertronics, treated strings and punctuated funk basslines. This is a one-of-a-kind combination.
