Released: Nov 2009
Label: Steve Marriott
The Atlanta Years, 1979 to 1982, aren't necessarily considered Humble Pie's artistic and commercial apex. Though the group did score a minor hit in the States with "Fool for a Pretty Face," the Pie's de facto leader Steve Marriott suffered from a series of ailments that prevented the band from hitting the road and doing what it does best: arena-sized boogie rock. Nevertheless, Marriott's canon of a howl is in fine form here, even if the material occasionally borders on early '80s sexy sax blues rock.
