Humble Pie's legacy is that of a marathon boogie-rock unit that barnstormed arenas year-round in the early '70s. But on their first two long-players, As Safe As Yesterday Is and Town And Country, the Pie sound more like folkies inspired by Music From Big Pink and Let It Bleed. But ultimately it's the pastoral flavors of Peter Frampton, a wonderful acoustic guitarist and songwriter, that rule these overlooked gems.
