Biography
Like a moderately depressed iteration of the Bravery, I Love You But I've
Chosen Darkness deliver a dance-friendly form of atmospheric synth-spined
indie pop that occasionally features drum claps not heard since Duran Duran
danced on the sand with Rio. Together since 2001, they earned the
potentially stifling accolade of being "the band to play with" in their
hometown of Austin, Tex., in the course of refining their sound. Their debut
five-track EP, I Love You But I've Chosen Darkness, produced by
Spoon's Britt Daniel, was a more pop-orientated affair, but the band moved
into darker territory with the Paul Barker-produced album Fear Is On Our
Side, released on Secretly Canadian in 2006.
