Will we ever get sick of the '80s? Is it possible? Kurt Feldman (no relation to Corey) of tweesters Pains of Being Pure At Heart surely thinks not, diving head first into the decade's gaudiest, glossiest, glitteriest moments on his solo debut as Ice Choir. Afar glides with the spindly grace of Spandau Ballet as Feldman croons in a wispy, seductive, looking-out-into-the-distance tenor, singing poeticisms like "wilted melody/ rusted prose." Tracks like "A Vision of Hell, 1996" and "Two Rings" expertly layer on the lite-FM synth cheese. Sure, it's retro-love in overdrive, but it's done to a T.
