Miniatures
Igor Stravinsky
Released:
Jun 1998
Label:
Naxos
Alternating between piano works and ensembles, this eclectic album pulls mainly from the neo-classically-influenced middle of Stravinsky's career, long before he accepted atonality as a method yet years after the chaos of "Rite" and "Firebird." The album starts out strong with the densely-written four-song "Pribaoutki" (which is a type of Russian word game).
