Gallimaufry is a stunning chunk of power-pop. Like the Byrds 40 years before them, Santa Cruz's Incredible Vickers Brothers fuse British Invasion-inspired pop and laid-back country-rock into a sound that's as dreamy and cosmic as a meteor shower raining down from the nighttime sky. That said, the Vickers are some funny lads. A real absurdist vaudeville vibe permeates this album, particularly the sparkler "We're Gonna Get Along Fine," which flirts with the notion that it's an anthem about PMS.
