Isaac Delgado is one of the most loved singers to emerge from Cuba in recent times. He started his career in the early 1980s while working with famed pianist Gonzalo Rubalcaba and the orchestra of Pacho Alonso. Graced with a velvety voice and seemingly perfect pitch, he joined NG La Banda, the group that forever changed Cuban music when they exploded onto the scene in 1988. Their funky, jazzy form of Salsa was punctuated by Delgado's cool stage presence. By the early '90s he was on his own, singing hit after hit with an even stronger band. Meanwhile, working with top arrangers helped him to become an internationally recognized artist. At times a bit soft with the Salsa romantica, his live performances have nevertheless secured his premier position as a Salsa heavyweight.
