This first record from the avant-noise-metal band Isis (released in 1999) opens with pure screaming mania, like the hollow blare of tooth pain, and goes from there. The riffs are slow to slower, and during both "The Minus Times" and the title cut the crush of downtuned guitars and bass-pound simply tops out. It makes you want to swear at people and wave a gun around.
