On his first album for Ghostly International, the Polish musician Jacaszek continues to blur the line between classical, composed music and digital technologies and aesthetics. Recorded in various churches and rearranged in Jacaszek's studio, Glimmer features harpsichord, bass and soprano clarinets and other acoustic elements gently collaged together into soft, glowing assemblages befitting the album's title. It's an easy background listen, bristling with fine textures and veiled in reverb, and it starts to open up the more closely you listen.
