Jacobites

Veteran English musicians Nikki Sudden and Dave Kusworth formed the Jacobites in the early '80s. Sudden was a founding member of the influential Swell Maps, a band that also included his late brother Epic Soundtracks. The Jacobites play shambling, romantic rock music and ballads seemingly inspired by the more pastoral side of the Rolling Stones, the Velvet Underground., Bob Dylan, and Mott the Hoople -- at their most songwriterly. The band's music has a wonderful loose charm, all out of tune vocals and romantic melodrama.
