Though he has trouble sustaining focus over entire songs, much less albums, Jadakiss spits the meanest 16 bars of any rapper alive or dead. Bitingly funny and deeply menacing, Jadakiss sounds god-like in one-second intervals. Not surprisingly, though, Last Kiss, his long awaited follow-up to 2004's Kiss of Death, is wildly uneven. "Come and Get Me," "Cartel Gathering" and "One More Step" find Jada at his best, while "Grind Hard" and "I Tried" are middling forays into pop-rap by one of hip-hop's grimiest.
