Ms. Jackson repeats the genre-hopping confidence of Rhythm Nation with extraordinary artistic and commercial success. She and producers Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis flip deep house ("Throb"), hard funk-rock ("This Time"), rock 'n' soul ("What I'll Do") and black consciousness-raising R&B ("New Agenda" with Chuck D) with zeal, and nearly every song shines. But it was the sex kitten epics "Any Time, Any Place," "That's The Way Love Goes" and "Again" that people remember, and that ultimately typecast her. After janet., she would forever be known as a good girl gone bad.
