At their best, Jarabe De Palo transcend the narrow constraints of rock; at their worst, they sound like an incredibly tight bar band. Both acts show up on this latest release. The group sounds invigorated when working with collaborators like Spanish rapper La Shica, who takes over the title track and makes it a thing worthy of repeat listens, or flamenco guitarist Diego Cortes, who further complicates a sound that's terminally in danger of being too simple. It all makes for a friendly, if sporadically engaging, listen.
