by Jason Aldean
Released: May 2007
Label: Broken Bow Records
Jason Aldean's second album kick-starts with the mellow rumble of "Johnny Cash." A twangy road-trip song to end all road-trip songs, it reminds us that making a get-out-of-Dodge mix without the Man In Black is totally unacceptable. Aldean's unrequited affection in the amorous ballad "Grown Woman" lays down the law of love like some kind of daytime soap-opera cowboy courtroom judge who uses a golden honky-tonk horseshoe hammer as a gavel. "I Break Everything I Touch" isn't a hilarious song about a guy who is the opposite of King Midas, but it paints Aldean as the tough-guy heartbreaker type.
