Label: Cash Money/Republic Records
Jay Sean is very good at delivering desperate jams drenched in plaintive, soulful vocals. Problem is, we already have a Bruno Mars, who took over in the four years since the Brit's last album. While tracks like "Close to You" (with its pretty, swooping vocals), the high-drama "Deep End" and evocative bedroom jam "Mars" are highly listenable, the sad-sackery starts to kinda smush together. So when Sean finally finds his pulse again on the sexy "All on Your Body" -- and keeps it pumping for the rest of the album, which is packed with solid beats and stellar hip-hop cameos -- you'll be ready.
