Emotion & Commotion is as schizophrenic as it is ambitious. Featuring everything from a 64-piece orchestra to cameos from Joss Stone and retro-chanteuse Imelda May, this opus is a mishmash of hard rock, lush classical, pop standards and modern adult-alternative fare. Of course, had it come from anybody else, then it would be a total head scratcher. But the legendary Jeff Beck is one mercurial dude, not at all averse to recording a gooey instrumental version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow."
