Rock 'n' Roll Party Honoring Les Paul

Rock 'n' Roll Party Honoring Les Paul by Jeff Beck
Released: Nov 2010
Label: Rhino
Jeff Beck is such an oddball. The icon's muse follows no logic. The follow-up to 2010's Live and Exclusive From the Grammy Museum, a record floating in a proggy, symphonic ether, Rock 'n' Roll Party Honoring Les Paul finds him returning to his greaser roots. Beck and his band, featuring modern rockabilly freak Darrel Higham and Irish diva Imelda May, tear into a stack of finely roasted chestnuts. Some of them are truly powerful, particularly the unhinged "The Train It Kept A Rollin'." The material spotlighting May is significantly more jazzy and pre-rock. "Bye Bye Blues" is pure World War II!
