The title Live in Monterey makes zero sense. Only five of the disc's 14 tracks are from the Airplane's landmark appearance at the Monterey International Pop Festival in 1967. But who cares? The remaining nine cuts are rarities, including the much sought after "Would You Love Me," and other live recordings that prove just how great and innovative this band was in the late '60s. Then again, as long as Jorma Kaukonen is on axe, the Airplane could make fart jokes and still sound awesome.
