Jeremy Camp's energized, inspirational rock has been equipped since day one to go the way of Mat Kearney's or the Fray's. But with Speaking, he dials it down a notch for a gentler set of worshipful love songs. His vocals remain personal and intimate, whether on troubled ballads ("Surrender") or climactic orchestral numbers ("You Will Be There"). The southern rock-tinged "Fortress" is a readymade Praise and Worship tune with a contemporary edge for which the 2008 P&W genre aches. "There Will Be a Day" and the title track are the singles here, but "Slow Down Time" is another surefire hit.
