Before you dismiss him as the retarded guy from MTV, check out Jesse Camp's adoration for East Coast rock 'n' roll. Camp's music is rooted in the same kind of Post-Punk and pre-Glam era vibes that put the first coat of nail polish on Johnny Thunders' hands. His music is bratty rock 'n' roll with Motor City guitar crunch, brash fuzz tones, and the Chris Robinson meets Paulie Shore vocal stylings of the young Mr. Camp. While some argue that his music would be easier to ingest if Camp had never made his rounds on the music channel that no longer plays music, others believe he writes some pretty good songs. "Summertime Squatters," for instance, is a love song for today's gutter punks that would be perfect for a slow dance scene in the film Rock 'N' Roll High School.
