Glitter In The Gutter
Jesse Malin
Released:
Mar 2007
Label:
Adeline Records
Though the title of Jesse Malin's third LP suggests '70s glam, the former D Generation frontman has crafted a perfect power pop album with his stride-hitting Glitter In The Gutter. "In The Modern World" sounds like a Real Kids song, while the chorus of "Black Haired Girl" could have been inspired by latter day Replacements platters (like the better moments on Don't Tell A Soul). If "Broken Radio" sounds like Nebraska-era Bruce Springsteen, that's because Malin actually got the Boss to join him on vocals. Ryan Adams shows up. too.
