Think Carrie Underwood with Ke$ha's bratty edge -- or maybe the precursor of Britney's likely inevitable attempt at a career in country -- and you'll start to get the idea of Jessie James. Sassy, pop-tastic and, oh yeah, drop-dead gorgeous, this military brat was born Jessica Rose James in Italy, grew up in Georgia and was destined for stardom from an early age. She was writing her own songs by age 9 and working with Nashville songwriters by age 15. Her demo made its way to Mercury Records, which alerted L.A. Reid, who signed her to Island and partnered her with Kara DioGuardi to start work on her debut. Her big break came when the plucky, sexy single "Blue Jeans" ended up on the Confessions of a Shopaholic soundtrack, and her self-titled, country-pop (heavy on the pop) debut dropped in 2009.
