Phillips' folk pop is as laid back as she seems on the cover. Her voice is gentle, as if built on back roads, finger-picking and sentimental cries. Her composition is introspective and not complex; it's easy to imagine her with a notepad, trying the first songs that come out. "Dry Town" and "Every Day" rise above, but the first two tracks have the catchiest licks.
