Jim Jones has never been one of the most talented emcees in the game -- his voice sounds strained, his flow is rigid and his themes are yesterday's braggadocio. But he does get decent production (No I.D., Ron Browz, Supa Dave West and Ryan Leslie all contribute here) and he does have that intangible something -- call it swag or maybe personality. Still, for those not enamored with the cult of Jones, the album can be a slog.
