Jimmie Dale Gilmore has teamed up with Warren Hellman's group The Wronglers to produce some pristine-sounding '30s-era hillbilly music. Hellman, a successful businessman and philanthropist (he finances the amazing Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival in San Francisco each year), is an avid bluegrass enthusiast and a fine banjo picker. Together, he and Gilmore create something that sounds amazingly old-fashioned, yet still rings relevant. Highlights include the Charlie Poole classic "Leavin' Home," the Carter Family's "Foggy Mountain Top" and Flatt and Scruggs' "If I Should Wander Back."
