Biography

Lewis never really made it onto the charts during his long career, but he certainly deserved to. Best known for his association with Ray Charles, Lewis also wrote songs for such fellow artists as Bobby Womack. His own vocal style combines the R&B-drenched manner of Wilson Pickett and the sweet Southern soul of Al Green. Lewis is a man confident enough to release an album entitled Soul-gasm -- and good enough to make that more than just an idle boast.
