Jimpster's fourth album was initially released on Japan's Village Again label, which might explain the strange spoken-word intro. But the music is as universal as you like, folding the Essex musician's longstanding feel for jazz structures and soundtrack affect into a focused set of club jams and slow-mo electro ballads; like Germany's Ame and Dixon, the album reaffirms the pleasures of classic American deep house, updating it with 21st century sound design. Making Rhodes keyboards sound as downy as a feather bed, this is lush stuff that's made for sinking into.
