Prolific pedal steel picker Joe Goldmark has put out solo albums since the late '70s. Seducing the '60s is one decade shy of coming full-circle as he picks and slides all over songs by the Beatles, the Kinks, the Byrds, Cat Stevens, Steely Dan and many others. His best covers are arguably the instrumental ones, as they allow the listener to really absorb the finesse and subtle nuances of his mastered craft, but Bay Area singers such as the honey-voiced Bart Davenport lend a larynx here and there. John McFee of the Doobie Brothers and Elvis Costello's band accompanies Goldmark on guitar.
