Joe Rogan

Though his resume includes News Radio, Fear Factor, and being the face of televised Mixed Martial Arts events, Joe Rogan is first and foremost a stand up comic. A former Tae Kwon Do instructor and dabbler in psychedelic drugs, Rogan as a comic is a misanthropic tough guy and free-thinking intellectual, unafraid to address off-color subject matter – sort of like a cross between Robert Schimmel and LSD guru/nutjob Dr. John C. Lilly. Rogan is a pretty unique comedian but sometimes listening to him is something of an endurance test, like he is daring you to keep up with his staunch honesty -- and if he sees you cringing, you are not his friend. The payoff comes with the sniper-rifle accuracy of the points he makes, also when he fights with his audience and any time he talks about evolution. A bit about what would happen if all the smart people died at once is hilarious and true. Much of Rogan's comedy makes you think, and that's what he wants. Because he is from Revere, Massachusetts, he will kick your ass to make it happen if he has to.
