Biography

Perhaps the most innovative musician in history. Cage's evening-long musical collage, Variations IV, represents a sonic collage of random bits of music in countless genres, fragments of conversation, speeches, chanting, and various kinds of white noise. The overall effect is similar to hearing the soundtrack of a movie with no plot. This style of music is known as "musique concrete."
