Released:
Label: Aware/Columbia
These intimate sessions yielding six alternate takes of Mayer hits first surfaced as a limited release in "indie" record stores in December of 2006, and were followed some months later with wide digital distribution. Mayer's songs sound at home with the rawboned arrangements, most of which are acoustic. The version of "Slow Dancing in a Burning Room" is tailored for the corduroy sentiments of ascendant young professionals, who might also feel compelled to hold each other and shuffle circles around the IKEA furniture to the glassy-eyed "In Repair."
