While the final cut in this incendiary live album was a highlight of the incredible concert film Wattstax, Taylor's entire show now appears on CD for the first time. Though obviously unhappy about his band's performance, the Philosopher of Soul is in prime form on soul ballads and R&B scorchers alike. From the vantage point of today, Taylor's band actually sounds pretty damn good, while the vocalist himself sounds even better.
