Joris Voorn

Born and raised in Rotterdam, Joris Voorn is a rising star of underground house and techno; fusing elements of Detroit techno and deep house, he's known for a rich, propulsive and unusually emotive sound. Inspired by the high drama of artists like Carl Craig, Laurent Garnier and Technasia, whose SINO label released one of his first records in 2003. Voorn brings to the table a knack for seductive arrangements and full-spectrum frequencies, stacking chords and supersaturating his tone colors. He released his debut album, From a Deep Place, on his own Green label in 2007. A few years later, having been picked up by crossover labels like Cocoon, Toolroom and Vendetta, Joris Voorn found himself enjoying an enviable position for the club world, appealing to the masses and headlining massive gigs, but still regarded for maintaining his underground credibility.
