Nearly every Jorma album out there, including his work with Hot Tuna, is all about not making a fuss. The dude plays and sings with all the presence of a shadow. As a result, it's easy to overlook his phenomenal finger picking. Seriously, folks, you're hearing one of the world's great post-folk revival guitarists. River of Time feels like a throwback to the 1970s: a mix of acoustic, Piedmont-inspired blues and moody originals. Plus, Levon Helm makes an appearance. Sweet.
