During the '80s, Journey's melodic rock was the butt of many jokes and yet, years later, there's something delicious about the Greatest Hits package. Steve Perry's upper-register vocals remain an unattainable dream for most mortals, and Neal Schon's melodic guitar noodling seems far more inventive and less self-indulgent than it did the first time around. "Don't Stop Believing" made its place in music trivia thanks to The Sopranos, but that's just the tip of the iceberg. Revisiting classics such as "Any Way You Want It," "Lights" and "Open Arms" is a surprisingly enjoyable ride.
