Juana Molina may tote an acoustic guitar around, but she isn't exactly a singer-songwriter. Molina can pen a solid tune (listen to the title track or to "Un Beso Llega"), but she uses her songs more as launching pads for exploring sound and texture. Molina often gets compared to Beth Orton, but she ends up more like Beck -- if he had the courage to merge his sensitive folky and ironic sonic explorer sides.
