Judgement of Paris

Judgement of Paris' music moves with the hazy serenity of a cold day's sunset filmed through a Vaseline-smeared camera lens. Lush orchestrations of electronics, dulcimer and guitars emanate serious elegance and beauty. They sparkle with light, but are blurred by sorrowful drones. Traps and hand percussion create rhythms that move like reeds bent by a gentle river's flow. Subtle rhythmic and melodic shifts sweep by and maintain an air of mystery and mutability. Male vocals sound like they are wandering lost through empty corridors of loss and longing. Their sounds do not dwell on despair, but the moments when melancholy becomes joy.
