Released: Jan 1957

London was always at her best on languid torch songs, so this noir-ish tour of nightclub blues resulted in one of her strongest albums. Out of print for decades, Capitol has finally put it on CD with four bonus cuts. Bobby Troup wrote "The Meaning of the Blues" especially for the record, and Miles Davis liked it so much that he quickly recorded it for the Miles Ahead album.
