Wait, did Julie Roberts release an album between her 2004 eponymous debut and 2006's Men & Mascara? No? Well that's strange, because this incredible record hardly sounds like a sophomore effort. With "Too Damn Young" serving as the only optimistic song here, the rest of disc will break your heart as only good country music can. Dripping Roberts' husky voice and pained soul, these songs unravel narratives of the broken and betrayed. This is divorcee country music at its finest.
