The first lady of Latin alt-pop is back, and she's clearly done some soul-searching on the "alt" side of her equation. With its gauzy electro-beats, smooth synths and distant, almost weary vocals, the sleek, gray-hued Los Momentos almost sounds like it was made by a different artist than the plucky, quirky Otra Cosa. The always elegant Venegas easily pulls off all the hipness, but you'll cling to the moments where the sun peeks through, like the cabaret-ish title track and "Vuelve," an odd, enchanting collection of growling vocals, rapping and martial (yes, martial) Spanish guitar.
