Justin Adams is a British guitarist who has played and collaborated with some of the most interesting -- and impressive -- names in the business. As a blues and rock artist, he has made a name for himself touring and recording with artists like Sinead O'Connor, Billy Bragg, Brian Eno and Robert Plant, whose Grammy-nominated 2002 album, Dreamland, features Adams' guitar work. But it is his passion for African music that has led to some of Adams' most fascinating and fruitful projects. His 2001 debut solo album, Desert Road, exhibited his longstanding love of North African music, a devotion he channeled into producing two albums by acclaimed Saharan blues group Tinariwen (including their 2001 debut). His partnership with Gambian griot Juldeh Camara has proven especially rich: after Camara heard Desert Road, he called up Adams and the two began sharing favorite music and jamming together. The partnership resulted in the critically heralded 2008 album Soul Science and 2009's Tell No Lies.
