Justin Moore's 2009 hit "Small Town U.S.A." struck a nostalgic chord with country music fans. On album No. 2, Moore looks to recapture the charm of that song, with mixed results. Some of the subject matter on Outlaws Like Me touches on similar subjects: the joys of a cold beer (or Jack and coke), the bliss of driving on the backroads, redneck pride. But when it works, Moore really nails it, as in "Outlaws Like Me" and "Redneck Side." The abundance of rabble rousers makes more heartfelt songs, such as "Til My last Day" and "If Heaven Wasn't So Far Away," shine even brighter.
